SSH Hardening: A Primer SSH is a wonderful service that is standard on nearly all Linux systems. It is a service that, when configured correctly, can provide quick and secure access to a system. However, when configured incorrectly SSH can offer attackers an easy route into your systems unabated by even simple safety measures.
The foundations of SSH hardening are mostly found within the configuration of sshd(or what ever ssh server implementation you might have) or the services surrounding your SSH environment.

Finally A Worthy Rival To Kali ParrotOS is a pretty promising new offering in the pentester targeted OS space that initially looked to be the best contender to Kali in my opinion. Sure there have been others, like BlackArch, but personally I didn’t see them as practical or viable. While the new takes were appreciated, Parrot felt like it was someone making a fresh attempt at the pentester toolkit experience in the same way I would.

Why CentOS?

Update: CentOS 8 EOL… Well, this is saddening. Cent’s maintainers have kind of messed things up big time. Partway through CentOS 8’s service life the maintainers decided that they would favor a continuous release platform more. Now all users on CentOS 8 will have to decide to either to downgrade to CentOS 7 at EOL time (December 31st 2021) OR move to CentOS Stream which will be a rolling release platform upstream.

Getting Started With Hugo

Preface I am not a web guy by any means, I’ll start with that.
Secondly, CSS and div trees and the sort DO NOT come naturally to me. So building my own static site wasn’t going to happen to easily for me either.
Hugo has made the process of getting this site started so easy, I have a hard time explaining exactly how much it helped. I had a bit of learning to do, since I am really bad with front end/web app stuff in general, but once I got the hang of things I had this site together from drafting, first render, to setting up apache and deploying on my server in less than one day.
